Edible Kent was started in the summer of 2014 in Kent, Ohio. The founders had one mission: Use existing ornamental plots in downtown Kent to produce FREE, organic produce for all. Since then, this nonprofit organization has grown to work with other nonprofit groups and community organizations in Kent. Main Street Kent, the Haymaker Farmers' Market, the Kent Community TimeBank, and the City of Kent have all shown their support for the Edible Kent beds and volunteers over the years.
